बिकासखंड जखोली मे महिलाओं द्वारा लगातार हो रहे आत्महत्याओ का शिल-शिला थमने का नाम नही ले रहा है।बता दे कि इससे पूर्व एक महिला ने कोठियाड़ा गांव व एक ने ग्राम पंचायत लौंगा मे दो माह पूर्व आत्महत्या कर दी।ज्ञात हो कि जखोली के बधांणी गांव की रहने ऊषा देबी पुत्री करण सिह की बीस वर्षीय की शादी माह जून मे पालाकुराली के रहने वाले अनुज सिह पुत्र रघुवीर सिह के साथ हिन्दू रिती के साथ सम्पन हुई थी, इन दोनो की शादी हुए केवल तीन माह का ही समय गुजरा था कि सत्ताईस सितंबर रविवार की दोपर मे ऊषा देबी ने अपने गलें मे फाँसी का फंदा डाल कर आत्महत्या कर अपनी जीवन लीला समाप्त कर दी
बताया जा रहा कि कुछ दिन ऊषा देबी अपने मायके बधांणी मे रह कर 26 सितंबर को अपने ससुराल पालाकुराली आयी थी जबकि ऊषा को छोड़ने स्वयं उसकी माँ आयी और रात को वहीं रूक गयी।,सुबह जैसे ही ऊषा देबी की माँ अपने घर जाने जाने मयाली पहुंची तो ठीक नौ बजे ऊषा देबी पत्नी अनुज सिह के आत्महत्या करने की खबर आ गयी।आनन फानन से ससुराल वालो ने महिला की द्वारा आत्महत्या किये जाने की खबर दूरभाष के माध्यम से मृतिका के पिता करण सिह को दे. दी गयी, करण सिह पौड़ी मे किसी सरकारी शराब की दुकान पर कार्यरत होने के करण देर रात को घर पहँचे, जिस कारण से ऊषा देबी के मृतक शरीर को पूरी रात पेड़ पर ही लटका रहा।
सोमवार की सुबह जखोली तहसील के नायब तहसीलदार मोहन सिह बिष्ट तथा क्षेत्रीय पटवारी गिरीश चन्द्र व करण की मौजूदगी मे शव को पेड़ से नीचे उतारा गया व तहसील प्रशासन द्वारा बिशेष कार्यवाही करते हुए शव का पंचनामा करके पोस्टमार्टम हेतु रुद्रप्रयाग जिला अस्पताल भेजा गया।अभी मौत के कारणो का पता नही चल पाया है, पोस्टमार्टम के बाद चल पायेगा।
